| JUDI'S FOOD STYLING and recipes can be seen on national brand packaging, TV and the internet, in magazines, catalogues and national print advertising. With 12 years in the culinary field and a prior 12-year career in graphic design, she combines her passion for food with the visual arts. Judi came to New York City in the mid-80s to complete her communication design degree at Parson’s School of Design. She worked in advertising, packaging, editorial and publishing – ultimately establishing and growing her own graphic design company for seven years, specializing in Macintosh desktop production. She tasted success, but wanted more… Judi put down the mouse, picked up a knife and walked into the kitchen. Her culinary journey began in 1997, when she graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education (formerly Peter Kump’s) and then worked at Gramercy Tavern. In 1998, Judi’s training in food styling began in earnest when she met Delores Custer at the Culinary Institute of America. She learned her craft working along side notable food stylists such as Delores, Paul Grimes and Rick Ellis while developing her own personal aesthetic and understanding of the business. Today, she works mostly in New York City but enjoys working in studios and on location from Massachusetts to Maryland and as far away as Costa Rica. She lives in Brooklyn with her dog, Jasper. |
