Which martini are you? by Judi Orlick

My partner likes an extremely dry vodka martini with olives - lots of them. Photographer Michael Marquand and I collaborated, and shot this martini with him in mind.

One could write volumes on martinis from the classic through all their variations. They are part of our social fabric, and make countless appearances in literature, film, television, and music. My favorite is a scene in the 1958 film, ‘Auntie Mame’, where — her 8-year-old orphaned nephew shocks his visiting legal guardian by explaining how he’s stirring the gin so as not to bruise it - as instructed by Auntie Mame.

Do you have a favorite martini memory or preparation? Are you gin or vodka? Dry? Dirty? Olives? Cocktail onions? Lemon peel? I’d love to know!
